Differential scanning calorimetric and coupled thermal differential and thermogravimetric analysis studies of propylenediammonium hexachlorobismuthate dihydrate, [NH 3 (CH 2 ) 3 NH 3 ] 3 (BiCl 6 ) 2 ·2H 2 O 2 , crystals are reported. This compound undergoes dehydration at high temperatures. The infrared and Raman spectra were measured at room temperature and were interpreted on the basis of literature data. There is evidence in the temperature‐dependent Raman spectra of the dehydration of this compound and it is found that the vibrational modes of both the anion and cation are influenced by it.
