Abstract A technique for decreasing the influence on spectra of CARS signal fluctuations was tested experimentally. The proposed technique is based on the normalization of the detected CARS signal to the reference signal which is generated simultaneously in the same volume of interaction through four‐wave mixing of two exciting beams in a Kerr‐shutter configuration.
