The Raman spectra of the trigonal LiCaAlF 6 Crystal were recorded at room temperature and 10 K. Three A 1g and eight E g Raman lines are expected according to group theory. Based on the polarized Raman spectra, symmetry assignments were made for the 11 predicted Raman‐active phonon modes. Throughout the temperature range studied, no drastic evolution of the Raman spectra was observed, which suggests that there is no structural phase transition in LiCaAlF 6 . Analysis of the Raman spectra was made by comparison with previous studies of several crystal fluorides such as Li 2 ZrF 6 .
