Abstract The Raman spectrum of [MgCl(THF) 5 ] [FeCl 4 ] · THF includes all four Raman‐activ vibrations of the [FeCl 4 ] − anion, thus supporting the results obtained by x‐ray analysis. On the other hand, no vibration which could be assigned to the MgCl bond has been observed, which may indicate that this bond is more likely to be ionic.
