Raman and IR spectra of Te(OH) 6 ·2Na 3 P 3 O 9 ·6H 2 O were recorded and analysed. The vibrational bands due to P 3 O   9 3− , TeO 6 octahedra and water molecules were identified. It was found that P 3 O   9 3−has a ring structure in the compound. The TeO 6 group and P 3 O   9 3−were found to coexist independently in the crystal. Further, the water molecules are non‐equivalent in the unit cell.
