Raman spectra were obtained of single crystals of RbAg 4 I 5 in an effort to confirm independently the far‐infrared results of Volkov and co‐workers that structural phase transitions occur at 44 and 30 K. The present results, that a strong ‘extra’ line occurs below 44 K at 12 cm −1 , is in agreement with their measured value, confirming that the phase just below 44 K is non‐centrosymmetric, in agreement with their proposed C 3 point group.
