Infrared and polarized Raman spectra of (NH 4 ) 3 H(SO 4 ) 2 have been recorded and analysed. Multiple bands are observed for the vibrational modes of SO 4 2−and NH 4 +groups. HSO 4 −and SO 4 2−ions are found to coexist with vibrational interaction between them. NH 4 +ion is not rotating freely in the lattice.
