The Raman spectrum of [ 15 N]ammonium perrhenate

15 NH 4 ReO 4 was synthesized and the Raman spectrum recorded at various temperatures between 10 and 300 K. 15 N isotopic shifts of both internal and external modes of the ammonium ion relative to 14 NH 4 ReO 4 were observed. The temperature dependence of the external modes was studied. The librational lattice mode associated with the ammonium ion disappeared above about 180 K. At this temperature anomalies were observed in the temperature dependence of the perrhenate ion lattice modes.
