The complexes [(PyO) 6 Co](ClO 4 ) 2 and [(PyO) 6 Ni](ClO 4 ) 2 have been synthesized and their Raman spectra recorded from a microcrystalline powder. The experimental data agree with those previously calculated for the low frequency vibrations. General assignments of both spectra have been proposed on the basis of a group factor S 6 for both the cation and the anion.
