A coherent anti‐Stokes Raman spectroscopy spectrum of the resolved Q branch of the fundamental ν =0–1 vibration for fluorine, 19 F 2 , has been obtained. The Q branch spectroscopic constants are found to be (‐α o ) =−0.012972±0.00007 cm −1 and (±β o ) = −(8±1)×10 −8 cm −1 . These are used to derive new values for the equilibrium and the ν = 1 rotational constants, and lead to an improved estimate for r e = 1.41426±0.00004 Å.
