Vibrational spectra of mixtures of chlorine, bromine or iodine with ethene or 2,3‐dimethylbut‐2‐ene (tetramethyl‐ethene) in low‐temperature argon or nitrogen matrices are reported. The shifts observed for the halogen and CC stretching modes of the 1:1 alkene‐halogen complexes are related to the structure of the complexes.
