Low frequency Raman scattering of aqueous solutions of disodium‐5′‐guanosine monophosphate (GMP), dipotassium‐5′‐GMP, NaCl and KCl are studied by construction of a quantity R ( ν ). A band with a maximum at 115 cm −1 is assigned to a mode from mononucleotides, associated in a manner different from normal base stacking.
