Room temperature polarized Raman spectra of potassium sulphamate single crystals have been investigated in the region 30–3400 cm −1 using laser excitation. All lattice modes, excepting two, have been observed. The reassignment of the internal modes of (NH 2 SO 3 ) − ion has been verified by computing the potential energy distribution. The observed correlation field splitting in KNH 2 SO 3 crystal is very small, of the order of 5–10 cm −1 .
