Raman spectral evidence indicates that benzene, when reacted with the zeolite adsorption complex MX + Br 2 , forms a surface donor‐acceptor complex with the adsorbed Br 2 on sites III and sites II. At lower Br 2 coverage (with sites II occupied and sites III unoccupied) the benzene reacts instantaneously to form addition products.
