The Raman spectrum of the addition compound of PCl 5 · UCl 5 was recorded. In all, seven major lines were observed. The results were interpreted as supporting the ionic structure of PCl   4 +UCl   6 − , the cation having a T d symmetry and the anion an O h symmetry.
