Raman spectra of the two crystalline phases of carbon suboxide were recorded in an attempt to identify overtones of v 2 and v 7 . The results are discussed with regard to the v 2 and v 7 potentials in condensed phases, and a recently proposed structure of the high temperature crystal form of C 3 O 2 is considered in view of the observed spectra.
