Lipase activity of Ricinus Communis has been reported with reference to gamma irradiation in the range of 10 – 1000 Kiloröntgen (Kr) units, and the period of germination in dark. Dormant seeds possess high activity. The activity is found to decrease with irradiation and also with the period of germination. The behaviour of the activity of the seeds germinated in dark is discussed.
