Employers increasingly are implementing family‐friendly policies to help attract and hold onto competent and dedicated personnel. Such initiatives have made it more acceptable than ever to employ married couples in the same firm. A study of 43 such work‐linked couples and 64 of their coworkers in ten organizations in Ghana investigates the extent to which these relationships affect productivity and efficiency and can lead to conflicts of interest in the organizations. It also reveals several positive outcomes in terms of employee retention, commitment, and morale. The degree to which such work arrangements are accepted and successful is likely to vary, depending on an organization's business requirements and culture.
