In this article, the time series of the North Hemispheric and South Hemispheric temperature anomalies are examined. Our results suggest that there is no evidence of any difference in the autocorrelation structure of the two hemispheric temperatures. They have the same second‐order dynamics. It is important to stress that this finding has been established using not a descriptive method but an inferential procedure.
