(b) Monthly mean diurnal rainfall variability (=∑ hourly rainfall − daily mean rainfall 2number of hours for summarization , unit: mm h −1 ), averaged from 21 regular observational stations in Taiwan, over the focused time period of 1982–2012. The locations of the 21 selected stations are referred to in Huang and Wang ([Huang WR, 2014]). The annual average value of the diurnal rainfall variability is added in (b) as the short dashed line.
