Aerosol types and source locations are identified. Country‐wise seasonal aerosol contributions to Lahore are identified. Classification thresholds are found and validated with satellite retrievals for desert dust, biomass burning /urban industrial and mixed type aerosols. An application of classification thresholds is demonstrated by using MODIS deep blue retrievals for a dust storm and a haze event.
