Harmonic analysis has been used to investigate the seasonal cycle in thermal regime at five locations over the Mount Biokovo region (Croatia): Makarska, Opuzen, Šestanovac, Imotski, and Vrgorac. The monthly averages of temperature as well as monthly means of minimum and maximum temperatures from 1961 to 1980 have been subjected to analysis. Decomposition of the harmonic analysis of temperature into three temperature types enabled, besides the conventional physical explanations of the annual harmonic oscillations, explanation in terms of shorter period harmonic oscillations. These results should be particularly important for botanical investigations.
