The rainfall in the far south of Spain is well represented by the records of Tarifa and Gibraltar, the latter being of unusual length. The complex interplay of locational and climatological elements singles out the region's climate as one of particular interest. Cyclic patterns in the record are examined, revealing evidence of periodicities of different frequencies.
