The principles, methods, indices, and classification system of agrotopoclimatic division are discussed, as practised for the Shaxi River Basin (SRB) of Fujian Province in China. This paper introduces methods proposed by the authors to calculate the spatial distribution of agroclimatic resources (temperature, humidity, precipitation, and wind speed) in a mountainous area, which may effectively disclose the macro‐ and micro‐variations of the spatial distribution of topoclimate, thereby creating the prerequisites for agrotopoclimatic divisions.
