On drought in south‐eastern United States

The temporal characteristics of drought in Florida are compared with drought behaviour in the remainder of the southeastern United States, and are discussed in relation to previous studies by other researchers. Florida's wet/dry episodes are frequently out of phase with other south‐eastern States. Possible causes for this phenomenon are presented.
