Cephalosporin acylases‐producing strain L24 was isolated from soil sample. The morphological, physiological and enzymatic properties were studied. The results suggest that this strain belongs to the genus Pseudomonas and is designated as Pseudomonas strain L24. The enzymes produced by the cells can convert both cephalosporin C and 7 ‐Gl‐(4‐carboxylbutanamido) into 7‐amino cephalosporanic acid.
