Cover illustration: Sponges inhabit intertidal rocky regions of Anjuna, Goa‐India (15° 34' 34.986″N; 73° 44' 23.895″ E). Haloferax sulfurifontis GUMFAZ2 having cup shaped morphology was retrieved as a biont of a sponge, identifi ed as belonging to Haliclona sp. The haloarchaeon in its uniqueness utilized CMC‐Na as sole source of carbon, producing the haloextremozyme optimally, at 20% NaCl, functional at 5‐30% NaCl. (Figure: Alisha D. Malik and Irene J.
