Abstract It is shown by comparison of UV‐survival curves that repair‐functions controlled by phages T4 D ( Escherichia coli ) and VI r ( Proteus mirabilis ) are insensitive to caffeine. In connection with these experiments, a UV‐sensitive is ‐mutant of phage VI r is described.
