Cover illustration. Bryozoa are a small group of marine invertebrates. Over 6,000 recent species are currently recognized. Most species are colonial, sessile suspension feeders. Colonies are composed of iterative, clonal modules termed zooids. In this issue of the Journal of Morphology, Schwaha and collaborators (pp. 1607–1616) start a series of publications dealing with the morphology of ctenostome bryozoans. The cover images shows a 3D‐reconstruction of a zooid of Haywardozoon pacificum based on serial semithin sections. The surface of the reconstructed zooid is transparent and various reconstructed organs are shown as color coded surface models.
