The middle ear and the cochlea have been described in 20 representatives from the superfamily Phyllostomatoidea of the suborder Microchiroptera. Various measurements have been made and the results compared by means of graphs. The ultrasonic pulses used by these bats for echolocation have been recorded and analysed. Generally, the structure of the cochlea does not show extreme modifications as found in some other superfamilies that have previously been discussed.
