A one‐pot synthesis of [ 14 C]arsenobetaine from 2‐dimethylarsinoylacetic acid is described. Cation‐ and anion‐exchange columns are used in the purification of the compound and its conversion to the bromide salt. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
