Deuterium exchange between dimethylsulfoxide‐D 6 (DMSO‐D 6 ) and methyl substituted aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, the xylenes, mesitylene, methylnaphthalenes and methylphenanthrenes is a convenient general method of preparing the CD 3 analogues.
