This paper describes the synthesis of [ 14 C]hippuryl‐L‐histidyl‐L‐leucine (hip‐his‐leu) from barium [ 14 C]carbonate. An overall radiochemical yield of 36% was obtained giving pure material with a specific activity of 17 mCi/mmol and a suitable substrate for the assay of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE).
