A synthetic procedure for the preparation of 2‐phenyl‐1,3‐propanediol‐2‐ 14 C dicarbamate. starting with phenylacetic‐(methylene‐ 14 C) acid was developed. The procedure from phenylacetic acid to 2‐phenyl‐1,3‐propanediol dicarbamate has four steps via phenylmalonic acid and 2‐phenyl‐1,3‐propanediol. The overall yield of all four steps was 28%.
