The synthesis of [2‐ 14 C(U)tyrosine]arginine vasotocin at a specific activity of 102 mCi/mMole was performed using the solid‐phase approach of Merrifield for peptide synthesis. Following purification by gel filtrations the labeled hormone was recovered at an average yield of 40% with an avian vasodepressor activity of 408 ± 24 U/mg.
