α‐Fluorocarboxamides 3a–3e can be prepared by treatment of the corresponding α‐hydroxycarboxamides with diethylaminosulfur trifluoride. The infrared spectra argue strongly against the existence of intramolecular hydrogen bonds between the amino group and the fluorine atom.
