The preformed iminium salts ( 1a – 1d )‐SbCl 6 −react with (1,1‐dimethylallyl)trimethylsilane 2 in dichloromethane at ambient temperature to give the pyrrolidinium salts ( 3a – 3d )‐SbCl 6 −in high yield. In addition, small amounts of the ene products 4c ‐SbCl 6 −and 4d ‐SbCl 6 −have also been detected.
