The absolute configuration of the microbial metabolite (−)‐koninginin A (2‐hexyloctahydro‐2 H ‐3,9a‐epoxy‐1‐benzoxe‐pine‐6,9‐diol, 1 ) is shown to have the configuration 2 S ,3 S ,6 R ,9 S by its synthesis employing the Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation.
