Selective Synthesis of ortho ‐Disubstituted Tetrahydroanthracenes with Retinoid Structure A synthesis of analogues of Temarotene (Ro 15‐0778) ( 1 ) is described. This synthesis achieves the selective substitution in ortho ‐positions of a tetrahydroanthracene system using palladium‐catalyzed coupling techniques.
