Cytochrome P‐450 Model Reactions, 2. — Isolation and Characterization of a Manganese(IV)‐Pentafluoroiodosylbenzene‐Porphinato Complex as a Model of the Active Species of the Catalytic Cycle of Cytochrome P‐450 The isolation at −78 ° C and characterization of the crystalline reactive manganese(IV)‐porphinato complex Mn(TDCPP)‐(C 6 F 5 IOCl)Cl ( 4 ) is described. 4 is compared with the manganese(IV)‐porphinato complexes Mn(TDCPP)(C 6 H 5 IOCl) 2 ( 2 ) and Mn(TDCPP)(OCH 3 ) 2 ( 3 ). The stoichiometric reaction of 4 with triphenylphosphane yields 1.5 equivalents of triphenylphosphane oxide, 1.0 equivalents of Mn(TDCPP)Cl ( 1 ), and 1.0 equivalents of pentafluoro‐iodobenzene. 4 epoxidizes stilbene, oxygenates cyclohexane, and oxidizes anthracene to anthraquinone.
