The synthesis of the four possible stereoisomers of 13,17‐dimethylnonatriacontane ( 1 ) has been achieved by starting from ( R )‐citronellol ( 4 ) and the enantiomers of methyl 3‐hydroxy‐2‐methylpropanoate ( 5 ).
