Bonellin: Determination of Its Absolute Configuration The absolute configuration of bonellin ( 3 ), the physiologically active pigment of the marine echiuroid worm Bonellia viridis , has been established as ( S ) by ozonolytic degradation. Ozonolysis forms the imide 5 the configuration of which was confirmed by CD spectroscopic comparison with 5 from degradation of vitamin B 12 .
