(1 S ,3 S ,5 S )‐2‐Amino‐3‐methoxymethyl‐2‐ azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane: SAMBO — a New Chiral Auxiliar (1 S ,3 S ,5 S )‐2‐Amino‐3‐methoxymethyl‐2‐azabicyclo[3.3.0] octane (SAMBO) ( 8 ) was synthesized with an overall yield of 48% starting from the α‐amino acid derivative benzyl (1 S ,3 S ,5 S )‐2‐azabicyclo[3.3.0]octane‐3‐carboxylate ( 1 ) by a six‐step procedure.
