One‐pot synthesis of mono‐ and dinitro‐1,2,4‐triazino[3,2‐ b ]benzothiazoles

Depending on the reaction temperature, the reaction of 2,3‐dihydro‐3‐thioxo‐1,2,4‐triazin‐5(4 H )‐ones 1 with 1‐chloro‐2,4‐dinitrobenzene and picryl chloride afforded 3‐(2,4‐dinitrophenylthio)‐4,5‐dihydro‐6‐phenyl‐1,2,4‐triazin‐5(4 H )‐one ( 2 ) and 2‐substituted 6,8‐dinitro‐3 H ‐1,2,4‐triazino[3,2‐ b ]benzothiazol‐3‐ones 3 .
