Osmometric molecular mass determinations of neutral medium‐polar model compounds in the range of 1000–1500 could be carried out with an error of less than 8%. Electron impact (EI) mass spectrometry failed. The fast atom bombardment (FAB) method provided MH⊕ or (M – H)⊖ ions but with low abundance.
