γ‐Alkylpentamethinecyanine Perchlorates from 2‐Alkyl‐3‐ethoxyacroleins Pentamethinecyanine perchlorates [γ‐alkylbis(1,3,3‐trimethyl‐2‐indolyl)‐ ( 5 ), γ‐alkylbis (3‐alkyl‐1,3‐benzothiazol‐2‐yl)‐ ( 6 ), and γ‐alkylbis(1‐ethyl‐2‐quinolinyl) derivatives ( 7 ), respectively] are prepared from α‐C nucleophilic heterocycles 1 – 3 and 2‐alkyl‐3‐ethoxyacroleins 4 as C 3 binucleophiles. UV data are tabulated; NMR spectra are assigned.
