Synthesis of P 1 ‐(7‐Methyl‐5′‐guanosyl_‐ P 2 ‐(5′‐adenosyl) Diphosphate P 1 ‐(7‐Methyl‐5′‐guanosyl)‐ P 2 ‐(5′‐adenosyl)diphosphate ( 3 ), an analogue of the “cap” structure at the 5′‐terminus of eukaryotic messenger RNA, was chemically synthesized and enzymatically identified. The synthesis, based upon the imidazolidate method 1 ), was performed on a nanomolar scale.
