The Reaction of 2,2′‐Bipyrrole with Triethyl Orthoformate 2,2′‐Bipyrrole ( 1 ) and triethyl orthoformate react in the presence of a Lewis acid to the hitherto unknown 1,9‐Bis(2‐pyrrolyl)pyrromethene ( 4 ) which was identified by spectroscopic methods (MS, NMR).
