Animated Acetal Glysocides as Competitive Inhibitors of α‐ D ‐Glucosidase from Yeast Previously synthesized [(S)‐2‐bromo‐1‐methoxyethyl] and [(R)‐2‐bromo‐1‐methoxyethyl] α‐ D ‐glucopyranoside ( 1a ) and ( 2a ), respectively, are suitable substrates for α‐glucosidase from yeast. Substitution of bromine in 1a and 2a for an amino group turns the substrates into the competitive inhibitors [(S)‐2‐amino‐1‐methoxyethyl] and [(R)‐2‐amino‐1‐methoxyethyl] α‐ D ‐glucopyranoside ( 1b ) and ( 2b ), respectively
