Naturally Occurring Terpene Derivatives, 383 1) . – Synthesis of Isopetasol Starting with 2,3‐dimethylphenol (1) , isopetasol (13) and epi ‐isopetasol (15) have been synthesized. A new route to the necessary octalin derivative 9 and for the introduction of the isopropylidene side‐chain has been described.
